| Alan is an AMS with the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS) and a member of the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC). He has been boating and fishing his whole life. From the back bays of Tuckerton, and Sea Isle City as a young boy. Too the offshore waters up and down the east coast as an adult. Working mainly in the Cape May NJ area, most of his surveys are sportfishing yachts. But he is very experienced surveying all types of vessels up and down the east coast. In the 1980’s Alan worked for Egg Harbor Yachts and Viking Yacht Co. as a marine electrician. He then went and worked as a marine electronics technician for a number of years. He is a graduate of Chapman’s Marine Surveyor program and Chapman’s Damage and Claims course. Every year he completes additional training programs and courses. With ABYC he has the distinction of completing and passing four training programs, Standards Certified, Marine Electrical Certified, Marine Corrosion Certified and Marine Systems Certified. He is also a graduate of the Sea School Captains license course, and has completed the Knox Marine Damage and Claims course. Marine surveying is his full time job, and he loves it.
